On The Absence of A Mother
Installation 23x73x2in.
Mixed Media materials joined into a carved wooden frame, this piece is an acknowledgement of a prior version of myself. A little girl that waited years for her mother to return until she became a mother herself. In Korean, the word “Fantasy” displayed on both sides speaks to a childhood of utilizing games, make-believe stories and maintaining the secret of motherlessness to pacify what was a quiet shame.
